Sudha is an Accredited Mental Health Social worker with over 15 years of experience working across early childhood, parenting, community mental health, private practice and NDIS sector, mental health sector within veteran population across life span. She is experienced in working with clients from culturally linguistic and diverse backgrounds and brings lived experience to this cohort.
Sudha offers psychologically safe space and creates a strong therapeutic alliance with clients to enable them to present their concerns, reflect their experiences and find meaningful and clinically sound solutions to their presenting concerns through therapeutic conversations.
Sudha likes to apply a holistic and systemic approach in her practice which is solidly built on a combination of evidence based therapeutic frameworks including attachment theories, CBT, ACT, grief and loss and Trauma Informed Care Practice. Sudha is also trained in provided clinical interventions using Prolonged Exposure, Trauma focussed CBT, EMDR, Schema therapy and Cognitive Processing therapy to clients who have experienced trauma due to adverse childhood, adolescent and adult experiences. Sudha also brings clinical knowledge and expertise in assisting clients with sleep issues including insomnia and nightmares through CBT approaches.
Sudha's professional interests include early intervention and prevention with special focus to perinatal adjustment, anxiety and depression, birth trauma, parent-infant relationship, maternal/parental grief, impacts of past trauma and domestic violence on parenting.
