Steph is a Registered Psychologist with experience supporting clients across the lifespan, in both community mental health and private practice settings.
She has a special passion for supporting mothers, caregivers, and families in the perinatal period. This may include support for anxiety and mood disorders, OCD, intrusive thoughts, parent-infant mental health, attachment and relationships, disordered eating and body image, trauma, and emotion dysregulation. Steph also recognises the importance of creating a safe, compassionate space for caregivers to explore their adjustment to parenthood, feelings of ambivalence, inner critic judgments and identity changes – all common experiences during this life stage.
Steph has a warm, motivating, and down-to-earth style, entwined with humour and compassion. Her therapeutic approach is attachment focused and trauma informed. She draws from a range of styles including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, and Circle of Security. Steph is also a qualified yoga teacher and has delivered yoga and mindfulness programs with marginalised communities. This background knowledge in yoga influences the holistic approach Steph takes when working with clients to support nervous system regulation and soothing.
At the Gidget Foundation, Steph offers face-to-face and telehealth services from Gidget House in Burleigh on the Gold Coast.
