Portia is a Mental Health Accredited Social Worker with experience supporting individuals across the lifespan. Since 2018, she has worked across a range of mental health settings, providing compassionate, evidence-based care for people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, and relationship challenges.
Portia takes a warm, relational approach to therapy, believing that healing occurs within the context of safe, authentic relationships. She draws on a range of evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and attachment-informed practice, tailoring therapy to each person's unique experiences, strengths, and goals.
Portia has a growing interest in perinatal mental health, particularly supporting people through the transition to parenthood, parenting after childhood trauma, infant mental health, parent-infant attachment, and the parent-child relationship.
Known for her attuned, collaborative, and authentic style, Portia strives to create a space where individuals and families feel heard, understood, and supported as they build confidence, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful, lasting change.
