Oren is a skilled scientist-practitioner and an experienced educator. He is passionate about modernization of psychological practice to better meet consumer needs, and to innovating educational methods to deliver the highly-skilled workforce Australia deserves. He is a registered Clinical Psychologist, a board-approved supervisor and an accomplished Cognitive Neuroscientist with more than 50 peer-reviewed articles (h =21) and over $1m in competitive grant funding. Over his 15 years working in higher education, he has been awarded for his scientific contributions, his educational design and his science-communication skills. He has supervised dozens of Masters and Honours theses, and 8 PhD research theses. He has organized national conferences, given keynote addresses and been appointed to advisory boards. In his clinical work, Oren has a strong commitment to improving the life of anyone he sees and deploys a range of therapeutic modalities. Although Oren works with a wide range of presentations, he has a particular research interest in voice-hearing and schizophrenia. He has supervised many provisional psychologists, chaired statewide placement committees, and is currently the Deputy Director of the University of Newcastle training clinic.
