Accredited Mental Health Social Worker

Michelle is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with a passion for supporting individuals and families through times of change, challenge and uncertainty. Michelle works from a compassion focused and strength-based perspective and has over 15 years' experience providing therapeutic support in a range of settings, predominantly within the non-for-profit sector. Michelle appreciates the diverse life experiences of her clients and the many competing roles, responsibilities, joys, and despairs that can all co-exist in day-to-day life.

Michelle holds a deep respect for the varied journeys that unfold on the road to parenthood and the unique experiences of individuals as they navigate changes in family relationships and personal identity, whilst supporting their baby in their early experiences of their world.
Michelle creates a warm, compassionate, and gentle space to support her clients through their pregnancy and early parenting journey and other important life transitions.  Michelle has a special interest in supporting parents living with loss, including through miscarriage, medical termination, still birth or the death of their infant or child, along with navigating pregnancy and parenting after loss or when facing a life altering diagnosis for their infant, child or themselves.   Alongside counselling with Gidget Foundation and in private practice, Michelle also works as a family support practitioner in community based pediatric palliative care.
