Liz is a mental health accredited social worker with over 20 years of experience in non-government and government mental health services. She is committed to supporting families during their transition to parenthood by creating a therapeutic context that is kind, compassionate, and encouraging.

Liz takes a client-centred approach, prioritising collaboration, choice, and safety in the therapeutic process. She has worked across the age span with a depth of experience in life stage adjustment, complex trauma recovery, child development, grief and loss, and cross-cultural practice. Liz prefers an integrative approach, drawing on her training in grief and loss, trauma-informed practice, acceptance and commitment therapy, and polyvagal and attachment theory. She also holds a Graduate Diploma in Play and Childhood and is a certified facilitator in the attachment-based Circle of Security program.

Liz draws on her extensive direct practice, supervision, advocacy and executive experience in the multicultural sector, particularly working with families from refugee and asylum seeking backgrounds, to make a meaningful contribution to the Multicultural Families advisory group at the Gidget Foundation.
