Julienne is a clinical psychologist with 40 years’ experience in both private and public mental health settings. For the past 5 years she has been the senior clinician and psychology manager at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne.
Julienne loves working with women in the perinatal period. It is a time of great stress but also of incredible excitement and potential for change. She is committed to witnessing and supporting people on this journey.
She works across all issues arising in the perinatal period, such as pregnancy loss, adjustment to parenthood, perinatal anxiety and depression, and birth trauma.
Self-compassion and attunement to both self and baby lie at the heart of her work. In the perinatal context she often uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), though she has many years’ experience with other therapeutic approaches (Gestalt, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy).
