Dr Ramas McRae is the STEAM Coordinator (Deaf Programs) at Science Gallery Melbourne, University of Melbourne, a researcher and a 2025 Churchill Fellow. He completed his PhD at Deakin University in 2026, specialising in childhood communication, sign language access and mental health among deaf Australians. Fluent in nine languages, including seven sign languages, he is a certified International Sign interpreter and an Auslan interpreter and translator. Ramas is a passionate advocate for deaf-led initiatives across education, science, mental health and the arts.
