Deanna is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, counsellor and life coach with a strong passion for supporting individuals and families through periods of change, challenge and personal growth. Her approach is warm, compassionate and person-centred, with a focus on creating a safe and non-judgemental space where clients feel genuinely heard, understood and supported.
Deanna has experience working across a range of mental health settings, including Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), as well as private practice. She support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship difficulties, identity changes and challenges associated with major life transitions.
Deanna has a particular interest in perinatal mental health and supporting women and families throughout pregnancy, early parenthood and the adjustment to becoming a parent. She understands that this period can bring enormous change to a person's identity, relationships, confidence and emotional wellbeing. She aims to provide a space where parents can speak openly about their experiences without fear of judgement or expectations about what parenthood “should” look like.
Her therapeutic approach draws on evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), trauma-informed practice, mindfulness, interpersonal approaches and strengths-based work. She tailors therapy to the individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
At the centre of her practice is connection. Deanna believes meaningful therapeutic relationships can help people better understand themselves, reconnect with their strengths and values, and develop practical strategies to move forward with greater confidence and self-compassion.
