Amira is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with experience across family support, eating disorder services, and community mental health settings.
Her therapeutic style is warm and grounded in authenticity. She values the healing power of humour and, where appropriate, brings a sense of lightness and ease into sessions, while remaining attuned to each person's unique experiences and needs.
While Amira can work in a practical and solution-focused way, her approach is fundamentally relational and compassion-focused. She is passionate about helping people feel genuinely understood, accepted, and connected to themselves and others. She views the therapeutic relationship as a central part of the healing process and works to create a space that feels safe, collaborative, and supportive.
To tailor therapy to each individual, Amira draws on a range of evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic-informed perspectives. Her work is grounded in trauma-informed and neuro-affirming practice.
Amira holds a Master of Social Work Studies and is currently undertaking further training in perinatal mental health, as she is passionate about supporting individuals through the emotional and relational changes that can accompany pregnancy and early parenthood.
