Alison is a warm and compassionate therapist with over 15 years experience providing mental health services. She enjoys working with people across all stages of the perinatal period, and is passionate about supporting families who have experienced perinatal trauma and loss.
She offers a welcoming and non-judgemental space. Her approach to therapy is relational and trauma-responsive, guided by attachment and developmental frameworks. She often sees family members together, sometimes in the home-environment, to support parent-infant bonding and attachment, the couple relationship, and the significant adjustment process that accompanies the transition to parenthood.
Alison particularly enjoys helping families develop self and co-regulation skills, as well as integrate sensory-strategies with traditional psychotherapies to address the impact of trauma on the body-brain-mind.
Alison has received specialist training in Perinatal and Infant Mental Health from leading organisations including: Gidget Foundation Australia (Graduate Diploma Program), Perinatal Training Centre (Intensive), Circle of Security ® (Parenting Facilitator), and Prenatal and Perinatal Somatics Institute (Birth Trauma Training).
