Oh wow! Mama’s life!! Oh boy, little did we know what we were in for!!
We started our IVF Journey with this little embryo being “inconclusive”, not a great chance of survival. Yet we just really wanted to believe.

After defying all odds, passing all genetic tests with flying colours, Matisse made it into our beautiful baby boy.

I went through the hoops of antnatal depression, the body transformation, the fear of unknown gender and the anxiety of passing on a medical and infertility legacy to a child, and wanting to crawl into a ball and being left alone for 9 months ... a real mental health roller coaster.

My friend told me that once you have your baby in your arms you won’t even care if the baby comes out as a crocodile .... well although that turned out to be true for us, we understand it’s not always the case for every new parent.

It was difficult... our family living overseas and we only had a handful of friends to rely on, the help we had was very limited.

Luckily we have been able to access a lovely Psychologist from Gidget Foundation Australia who was non-judgmental and empathetic. She held our hands all the way through from pre pregnancy until Matisse was 3 months old, and she gave us the most supportive and insightful advice.

We are so grateful for the support and attention we received from Gidget Foundation Australia.

Far out it was hard but what a light at the end of the tunnel!
To all the future mamas out there, please believe there are ways and there are hopes, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. xx
