Chris Barnes is a Clinical Psychologist, Registered Supervisor and Fellow of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists. She has been in private practice for over 30 years. Starting her career with children and their families in distress, then working with clients focusing on grief, loss, pregnancy, and fertility, adoption, foster care, her passion for women’s emotional wellbeing has been a driving force in her career.  

After working  for 5 years as one of the original Gidget House Clinicians, she became the Senior Clinical Team Leader co-developing and implementing many new initiatives including: the Group program, Workforce Development and Supervision program, co-ordinating professional development and training and presenting at conferences. Now Chris is the Senior Clinical Consultant at Gidget Foundation Australia.

Chris loves working in the perinatal sphere, and also enjoys bringing cakes to work, sharing joy with Gidget’s Clinicians and Staff who work so hard to support and ‘hold’ the distress of clients that they see each day.
