Tara Shelton

Graphic Designer

Tara is a mother and brand designer with an entrepreneurial twist. She studied a Bachelor of Design in Visual Communications at UTS, and then began her career in London, working in design and marketing for fashion retail brands. Since returning to Sydney, the past decade has seen her build her own creative agency, Dream & Do, specialising in branding start-ups, as well as starting and growing her own e-commerce and events business, ‘Little Succers’.

Tara has a very personal connection to the Gidget Foundation. She used the service for all her children, having suffered PNDA with her first two babies and accessing the service as a preventive measure for her third. As part of her prevention strategy, she decided to close her business to enjoy a stress-free, self-funded maternity leave. Thankfully, third time round, she was able to experience post-partum without suffering mental illness.

In returning to paid work, Tara’s goal is to align her work with her purpose of ‘making the world a better place for mothers’. Grateful to Gidget for the help she received, Tara now works part-time for the foundation as a graphic designer. In her spare time, she also collaborates with mother-driven organisations and works on her own creative personal projects centred around her passion to make a difference for modern mothers.
